Brazilian poster of “Crossing Over” has Alice instead Lyotta

O Globo – To help promoting the long “Crossing Over” in Brazil, Image Films changed the poster, removing the photo of actor Ray Liotta and including the Brazilian Alice Braga. “Crossing Over” didn’t have good critics in it’s launching, last February, in USA. But can win breath in Brazil thanks to presence of brazilian actress, once again working with a Hollywood star. After Will Smith in “I’m a Legend”, Alice divides the scene with Harrison Ford.

Directed by Wayne Kramer, the movie comes to Brazil on 10 April. The trailer has just be released in the internet and cinemas. In it, you can see the actress as an illegal immigrant being arrested by immigration federal agent played by Harrison Ford. With a son, she has just touched the official’s heart, which decide to help her.

Ray Liotta lives an agent responsible for examining applications for immigration. The film still brings Ashley Judd, in the role of a social worker.

The mosaic of parallel stories of latin americans, oriental, jews, arabs and australians did the filme be compared to the Oscar winner “Crash”. Lived in Los Angeles, “Crossing Over” talk about the issue of immigration, borders between countries and the ilusion of “american dream”

New project

Alice Braga, Mickey Rourke and Vincent Cassel are set to star in 11 Minutes, an adaptation of the steamy Paulo Coelho novel that will be directed by Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now), says Variety.

Hollywood Gang’s Gianni Nunnari is producing, with Craig J. Flores and George Waud as executive producers. Shooting begins June 1 in Brazil and Geneva.

Braga plays a naive girl who is betrayed by her first lover and swears off romance. She becomes a high-priced call girl who works at an upscale gentlemen’s club in Geneva. Cassel plays a music executive who gets her hooked on S&M. Rourke plays the club owner.

Italian heartthrob Riccardo Scamarcio is in talks to round out the cast.

Abu-Assad has rewritten a script by Marcos Bernstein.
