Blindness is all around here, in Brazil. August 25 was the pre-screening in São Paulo and last night the pre-screening in Rio. Unfortunally, Alice only attended the press conference in São Paulo (which I’ll be adding pictures soon), she won’t go in any screening.
But I’ve found pretty and HQ new stills of her in the movie:
Today, our girl is in Italy, I found some pictures from the Opening Ceremony of 65th Venice Festival and Alice is beautiful!
Enjoy the pictures!

Alice will be working with her mom in her next brazilian project, Marco Ricca’s “Cabeça à Prêmio”. The work will start in September.
Aninha Braga will be her mom in the movie.
It was opened yesterday, in São Paulo, the “Festival Internacional de Curtas“. It is the leading event for short films in Latin-America and a very special meeting place where filmmakers can exchange esthetics, political and economic experiences related to shorts.
Bringing an expressive selection of films in the international program, a showcase of Latin American shorts and the largest annual display for the Brazilian production, the event attracted approximately 28.000 spectators in 2007.
The festival presents special programs that bring the short branches into a diversity of forms, including retrospectives, tributes, and digital films made in the outskirts of big cities.
Alice was there in the opening, besides Wagner Moura (his partner in “Cidade Baixa”), and Rummikub will be presented during the festival.
The festival runs from August 22 to August 29

According to IMDB, Alice re-team with Chiwetel Ejiofor to make The Suffering, a horror movie produced Brian J. Gilbert.
The Suffering is based on the video game by Midway. A death row inmate named Torque escapes the electric chair and battles against creatures that have taken over the prison.
This production is around since 2005, IGN.com has an article about this production dated September 05. where we can see that “films and effects guru Stan Winston are joining forces to bring Midway Games’ popular action-horror property The Suffering to the big screen. The flick will be based on the original Suffering title, which dropped back in April 2004 and its sequel, The Suffering: Ties that Bind, which hits shelves this month.”
Blindness, the dark Canadian-Brazilian-Japanese drama based on Jose Saramago’s acclaimed novel, is set to open the 28th edition of the Atlantic Film Festival.
Organizers announced their selection on Friday from Halifax, where the 10-day festival will unspool beginning Sept. 11.
“Opening night will beautifully align our celebration of Canadian cinema with this incredible Brazilian co-production,” said festival director Lia Rinaldo.
Packed with Canadian and international stars, Blindness tells the story of a mysterious epidemic that afflicts an unnamed city, robbing citizens of their sight and quickly causing societal breakdown.
The cast includes U.S. actors Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and Danny Glover, Mexico’s Gael Garcia Bernal, Brazil’s Alice Braga, Japan’s Yusuke Iseya and Canadians Sandra Oh, Maury Chaykin, Susan Coyne, Martha Burns and Don McKellar — who also adapted the screenplay from Saramago’s book.
The movie opened the Cannes International Film Festival in May and will also screen at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. Blindness is set for a limited North American theatrical release in September.
