Deadline reports that Alice Braga has been cast in Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium, coming to theaters on March 1, 2013.

Sharlto Copley, Jodie Foster, Matt Damon, Wagner Moura, and William Fichtner also star in this upcoming sci-fi thriller that tells the tale of what happens when a battle ensues between aliens and humans for the right to colonize another planet.

During the “The Rite” press here in Brazil, we was told Alice is attached in a brand new project. It’s an adaptation of “Vale Tudo, o Som e a Furia de Tim Maia”, a biographic book about Tim Maia, a late Brazilian singer. Here at youtube you can watch the video of “Vale Tudo”, the song that named the book.

So, there’s no much information regarding this movie, yet. Alice will play Tim Maia’s wife and production will start next July. The movie is planned to be released in March/2012, and will be directed by Mauro Lima.

The cast for Mikael Hafstrom’s adaptation of Matt Baglio’s novel The Rite has increased threefold with the addition of Alice (Repo Men, Predators) Braga, Ciaran (The Eclipse) Hinds, and Toby (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) Jones.

Variety has confirmed the trio will be joining the previously announced Anthony Hopkins and Colin O’Donoghue in Hafstrom’s take on Michael (Queen of the Damned) Petroni’s screenplay. Hopkins will play an expert in exorcisms while both Hinds (pictured) and Jones will portray priests.

The Rite centers on a disillusioned American seminary student who attends exorcism school at the Vatican and ultimately finds his faith through encounters with demonic forces.

Alice Braga, Mickey Rourke and Vincent Cassel are set to star in 11 Minutes, an adaptation of the steamy Paulo Coelho novel that will be directed by Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now), says Variety.

Hollywood Gang’s Gianni Nunnari is producing, with Craig J. Flores and George Waud as executive producers. Shooting begins June 1 in Brazil and Geneva.

Braga plays a naive girl who is betrayed by her first lover and swears off romance. She becomes a high-priced call girl who works at an upscale gentlemen’s club in Geneva. Cassel plays a music executive who gets her hooked on S&M. Rourke plays the club owner.

Italian heartthrob Riccardo Scamarcio is in talks to round out the cast.

Abu-Assad has rewritten a script by Marcos Bernstein.

Stefano Azevedo is passionate for hippopotamus, and decided “stalking” celebrities in seeking to achieve that they drawn their own version of the annimal. This drawings are published in a blog. Alice was one that has created a hippopotamus especially to him.

The Brazilian actress Alice Braga was clicked by Bob Wolfenson for the spring campaign of Hering. This is the first time that she participates in an advertising campaign and the reason was noble: she donated her salary for IBCC (Brazilian Institute of Control of Cancer).
“I am very happy in participating, the people need to have conscience that the disease doesn’t only happen with the other ones”, Alice said.
