I would like to wish visitors, friends, affiliates and Alice fans a great holidays season, full of peace, love, health and joy. And a wonderful new year, plenty of realizations.
You’re already noticed that we have a new layout. I found this gorgeous Alice picture (it belongs to the December issue of brazilian magazine TPM) and tough it deserved a layout with it.
I’m still fixing some CSS bugs so, if you find any error, please, let me know in our comments, please;
Also, don’t forget to tell me what do you think about the new look
Alice was chosen by brazilian “Creativa” magazine as one of 25 women that shines this year.
First time I saw Alice was in “City of God”, seven years ago. But was in “Lower City” that I was really impressed by the presence she has in the screen. Last year, finally, I meet her personally because we’re working on David Mamet’s “Redbelt”, which we’re brothers. Alice is an actress that has a dramatic force, a fresh and an spontaneity very strong. She’s building a very beautiful career, expanding her professional horizons, working with different directors, playing interesting characters… I really admire her choices. Among this, she’s very dearly. He’s a humble, calm, and nice girl. We’ve met for only a year and a half, but she became a big friend.
Rodrigo Santoro, actor.
Scans will be posted later.
Alice is also listed in “Epoca Magazine” as one of 100th more influent people of 2008. Will try to find scans of this one, too.
The New Polyglot Sexpot: Brazilian actress Alice Braga straddles the border between indie and mainstream success, gaining everything in translation.
By Fernando Cwilich Gil
As a Hollywood starlet on the rise, primped and surrounded on every side by a gaggle of publicists, handlers and managers, sometimes the only refuge from the madness is cultural. “Let’s do this interview in Spanish,” says Alice Braga, near whisper, as her entourage swirls around a suite in midtown Manhattan’s Regency Hotel. “That way we can have some privacy.” Moments of tranquility are scarce for the São Paulo-born actress, who made her debut in 2002 in Fernando Meirelles’ groundbreaking City of God, and has been bagging accolades and plum roles ever since. The svelte, raven-haired 25 year old has smoothly crossed over from South American indie crush to Hollywood big time without sacrificing her magnetic Brazilian heritage, from popcorn epics like Will Smith’s I Am Legend to more cerebral fare like 2008’s Blindness, in which she starred alongside Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore.
